Problem with Burning DVDs - Disc Blank or Invalid

I have been using my burner fine for over a year. Now, all of a sudden when I try to backup a DVD it is giving me problems. When I insert the original DVD into the drive it ejects it and says "The disc is blank or invalid." I have tried this with several DVDs and it does the same thing with all of them. I am using the newest version of Nero. Any suggestions?

It would kinda sorta help to know what burner and firmware you have.

Not sure. I have a DVD Burner that came with my Dell Dimension 8200. I have not downloaded any additional firmware.

Try using DVD Info Pro to ID the drive:

i have not upgraded firmware, i have whatever came with the burner
