Nokia 1208b Unlock Procedure

I contacted my provider, T_Mobile, and they sent me the unlock code and the procedure to follow (below).

So far so good.

Unfortunately, I followed the procedure twice and got an error message each time. Once I did it with the original T-Nobile sim card inside and once with a different carrier's card inside. T-Mobile was of no help.

I tried to reset my device to factory defaults before trying for a third time but was prompted for a security code that I don't have and could not hack. Don't know if this would have helped or not.

Can anyone help me so I don't permanently lock the phone on the 3rd try?

NOTE: If you receive an error message while performing the instructions below, stop. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. Verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and submit a new request. Please be sure to also include the city and state of purchase and what carrier's logo is displayed on the bottom of the faceplate.

1. Press #
2. Press * three times = P
3. Press * four times = W
4. Press * twice = +
5. Enter the unlock code
6. Press * twice = +
7. Press 1, then # and the display should read "SIM Restriction Off"
