This is now a reply to J-five, neither both are suxxors lol. i bought a e machines t6216 i think is modle from tiger for 399.99 cheaper than ur budget and its better than those 2 lol. amd 939 socket amd64+ 3200.
ati 128mb video(i know on board! but better than my previous 64mb nvidia card!><) 512mb ram(ive since upgraded so now i ahve 1.5g of ram only costed 100 bucks too:)) crappy on baord sound but i dont use surround so no need. came with win xp sp2, dvd burner, cd drive, 6 in 1 bay thingy, media keyboard and a mouse, oh and speakers. its highly upgrade able well untill the amd baords with ddr2 support are cheap. u can replace cpu with a duel core i think great upgrading machine thats decent by iteself.

Absolutely, it's over 50% more powerful than the X600 Pro, and allows for High-res gaming (1280x1024 easily, and to an extent 1600x1200) and the 600 doesn't.

"The Intel Pentium 4 630 3.0GHz CPU is usually only seen in machines £200 more expensive than this PC" - not strictly true, and 3000mhz is a relatively low clock speed too, an A64 3200+ is better.
" CPU will easily outperform similar priced CPUs from rival brands" - well rival brands would be AMD so no it doesn't.
"This is coupled with 512MB of RAM memory" - i know its not a vastly expensive PC but 512 isn't a lot for gaming
"nVidia GeForce 6800XT" - is there such a thing? i'll assume this is a 6800GT. That's very good for a system of this price, really.
"All this is hosted on the ECS 915PL-A2" - an ECS motherboard. <shudders>
"a 16x Double Layered, Dual Drive DVD+/- R/RW burner is included" - not bad at all, but some people like a second DVD-ROM drive as well.
It comes with a card reader and 17" TFT monitor so not bad.
I'd have a look at www.savastore.com for some good UK-based deals. If you can get a better PC than that for the same price there I'll eat my hat.
EDIT: I won't eat my hat, because they've removed one of their better offerings, so actually you probably won't find a better PC. And the 6800XT does exist, but it performs a lot slower than a 6800GT does. TO be fair, that's actually not a bad deal.
