aabbccdd,
yeah, I thought so too. I considered Vista, but it's in beta state now and I just heard that the release date got pushed back. Well, here we go...
Thanks for posting a reply.

That is indeed a good monitor. I as a general rule dislike case doors because they seemed tacky but the NZXT lexa and Thermaltake Soprano make a good job of it.

is that worth getting over my 3700? because if i dont get that, i can get the 1900XT that would eleviate my ram, and give me better performance than the 3800 alone would do, Correct?

Getting a faster GPU would alleviate some of your RAM as the GPU is no longer nicking it, but it depends how much the 6200 is taking, if it only takes 128MB, then obviously that's all you'll gain. With 1GB of RAM, the better upgrade processing performance-wise would be the X2 3800+, you're not gaining much by alleviating RAM, however getting a faster GPU would suddenly allow you to play games very very well, and the A64 3700+ in single threaded apps is faster than the X2 3800+, so gaming-wise, go with the X1900XT, but processor-performance wise, get the X2.

o.k.... so i will prbably just get the X1900XT.. and the adaptor, but i am worried slightly about stability. i have my mobo, H.D. and cd drive and 3 fans, soon to be 2 because of the 6200..
i do multitask, but i will go to duel core on the AM2 or the 775..

Well what rating is the power supply, and who makes it? If it's a PSU that came with a case it probably won't be powerful enough to man an X1900XT regardless of the wattage rating. You'll want at least a good make 480W supply with an X1900XT and a lot of other gubbins. For dual core I'd advise socket 939 post conroe release. Assuming 939 will get the same price cuts (who'd buy 939 stuff if they didn't?) then get the X2 on socket 939, it's cheaper and often has better components available due to its maturity. Post-price cut it'll be dirt cheap.

Well it is a very high power card, so you can expect to need a high power supply to run it!

Keep what you've got, without question. A D940 is good, but the 4200+ is better.

The fact that the D940 is a lot cheaper should also be a hint! :D

hey fihsnerd thx for the case suggestion, but like i said it will be in a cabinet so having ports on the side doesnt work. I wont be able to plug anything into them cos there wont be room.
edit: spelling
