the hiper is a great power supply, especially for its price. sometimes on newegg, it goes down to 89.99 usd. it would run that computer fairly easily.

My Antec NeoHE 550 has been a stellar performer that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend :)

Anyone ever ordered anything from ChiefValue.com ? They seem to have better prices on the Hiper PS then newegg.

Not me. Newegg's very good though, so I'd stick with them unless the price is dramatically different.

Those who have the Hiper PS. Does it come with a 6-pin connector? My video card requires a 6-pin connector and I want to make sure that I don't have to buy an adapter.

I am about to build my first computer and I was hoping that you guys could lend a helping hand. There are some specific conditions though...1) it needs to be as small as possible! 2) it is meant to run a slideshow on a 30 inch plasma and possibly be mounted on the back of the tv 3) it is not for me 4) i have seen one already and have done some investigating on what i need to build. here is what the other computer has...

antec minuette II w/ 220 psu
intel celeron 326
ecs rc410L/800-m v2.0 socket T lga 775 w/ ati xpress x200
maxtor 40gb hd
SpekTek 256mb pc4200

General impressions? Know of anything smaller? I found all of the parts for just over 250 so it is pretty reasonable but a couple things intimidate me being a virgin builder such as installing the motherboard and cpu, and even touching the bios settings scares me. Let me know what you guys think.

pvtjoker: I'm pretty sure mine does. http://reviews.pimprig.com/power_supply/hiper_type-r_580w_psu_-_u...

rc82: I personally would avoid that other system like the plague. Cheap board, cheap HDD, limiting PSU, and unknown memory. Look into HTPC cases.

I expect that's what is meant, otherwise it'd be a video splitter.

Yes to the graphics card, no to the power supply, too cheap, reeks of potential carnage. Use one of these instead:

Would the KVM switch cause any performance issues with the video?

I shouldn't think it'd be very severe, but don't expect 100% of the performance you had before.

Trust me, good reviews or not, you don't want a cheap Power Supply destroy your computer like I had last year with my old system.
