I have been having occasional satic problems while playing waves and mp3's, and I can't seem to find the source. I know mp3's can be so-so quality, but can't figure out why wave files also have static. I am using Windows XP Pro, AMD Athlon 900 w/256mb ram, Radeon 9600 and a Echo Gina 20 sound card. I am starting to think the sound card is going bad, but am not sure. Any suggestions? Keep in mind, the static is random and doesn't occur all the time, even with the same files.
