Hi my dvd drive states that it is a cd drive. I have a pioneer 106, using various software it burns dvd's okay, but of late when i insert a re-writeable disc it shows it as a cd. I checked the properties of the drive and it states : dvd-rw restricted overwrite, it supports MWR read, but not MWR write. Can anyone tell me what is wrong as i have a few dvd-rw disc's that i cannot acces not can i re-format.

To be able to recognize a RW Cd your drive must use a program that can read RW's -- Google search for INcd , install and you should be OK .
If you already have InCd or Roxio's counterpart , i would check the setup of your drive .

You are better off uninstalling InCD as it is known to cause problems and is useless anyway if you don't use it.
