How can a burn a portion of a skipping DVD?

I am trying to burn a copy of a work out dvd but when I use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter I get a redundancy error at about the same spot. I believe the reason for this is that the DVD's damaged. I have tried toothpaste and what not to get rid of the scratches, but so far no luck. I don't need the end chapters that are skipping, so I was wondering if their is any way I can pull out the first part of the disc and put it on a dvd without having to deal with the skipping portions? Thanks for he help!

Have you tried 'Re-author' in DVD Shrink?

Open the disk, click 'Re-author' and drag 'Title 1' (assuming it is title 1) from right to left pane.
Click on the Start/End thingy and choose using slider or by chapter.
