I have been in a great search for a program to do what this forum says, DVD Ripping.

Options I have tried:
-Mac The Ripper v3 - Works well, no Disney titles.

-Mac The Ripper v4 - NEW so far works very good. I have had no errors and speed is decent.

-RipIt 1.2.x / 1.5.x - RipIt allows to copy a DVD to your HDD in a RIPIT format. All you have to do is "right click, open contents" then drag and drop the video_ts folder to the HDD. This carries over all encryption too. Designed to watch movies off a HDD only.

-Handbrake - Rips DVDs to HDD in MKV, MP4, AVI formats. New version uses VLC player in conjunction with itself somehow.

-Mpeg Streamclip - Excellent FREE program for converting files. Will not pull from protected DVDs. one of my fav to clean up VHS converts.

-TOAST 10.x - A Must or POPCORN! - These programs will take your un-decrypted DVD video_ts folders and compress to single layer DVD and burn.

I am searching for the fastest and best for PowerPC Macs on 10.5 OSX. I have a 5yr old who destroys DVDs. I'd rather he destroy a copy. So, if you have any help or programs to try, please let me know.
