Hi,

Im new too Dvds-Rs and ive been playing around abit.

I used DVD X Copy platinum to backup a DVD of planet of the apes to a datawrite DVD-R.

I tried it in my Ps2 (unmodified) it worked perfect.

However i tried the exact same method with Lord of the rings DVD, and it does not work in my PS2. The ps2 detects its DVD media but when booting into the film it crashes, but works fine on my DVD player.

ive tried using DVD dycriptor and other pgorams, Does anyone have a working method (such as settings on dvd decryptor) that will work with my Ps2.

Thanks

I had the same trouble a while back.. I had a disk that played one time but never again.. It's most likely the media you are using..

i'll almost garuntee this is a media issue.

i have a few early back ups that wont work in ps2 but play great on dvd player.

ever since i've been using nothing but ritek g04 i have not had a problem with playing back ups on ps2.

guess the ps2 is just a bit picky.

hope this helps

Whenever people cant backup a movie they say there must be some new protection. There is no new protection, every movie can be backed up, including every one you have listed.

I have done all of the LOTR trilogy on DVD-R that plays in any DVD Player [Ritek G04 blank media was used].

It is NOT some kind of new protection as has rightly been explained already !!

i have back-up over 30 ps2 games

all using Ritek G04 dye discs

Do not deviate from this disc or dye - my ps2 hates any other media but the Ritek G04 is the best.

Decrypter, 4xdvd-r and burn at 2x or less

Yeah, lol :P

For some reason this thread was in my favourites over at school, so rather than looking up info for my history class, I decided to go on aD for a bit hehe, and I noticed people were saying how great Ritek dye was, and I was wondering if they had ever used the dye considered the best worldwide :)
