I can't belive disk spanning hasn't caught on with the big software makers well except Roxio cause they have it but it lack features.

A backup tool for writing the contents of large files/folders that exceed 4.7GB to multiple DVDs. Span large projects across multiple discs
Software that automatically determine the best organization of each disk in order to fit the maximum amount of data on a series of discs.
Something that takes the thinking and time out of organizing data on DVDs and CDs efficiently.
It performs all of the complex calculations for for fitting data on a series of discs not to waste space on disc.

The program should have features:

?An efficient algorithm to distribute the files on the media in such a way as to leverage all the available disc space.
?The ability to burn files to media.
?The option to distribute the files in such a way as to keep files within the same directory on the same CD/DVD.
?Filters to add only specific file types or files with specific names.
?Grouping feature to group files and folders to be burn to the same disc that the user deem similar.
?Able to search for file/folders to help with grouping similar files/folder to disc more easily
?ablity to leave out the parrent directories of the files and folders above it.

Since many users get movie files (avi, mpg, mov and mkv... etc) music (mp3,wav, and wma) and other types of media off the internet.
Hard drives get full fast and its complicated to search for and find files/folders so that the similar ones can be grouped to be burned on the same disc. Searching

organizing and buning to disc is ahead.

So frist you search folders and drives (if you have many) for similar data (media) and you organize them so that they can all be on the same disc. So you search different

folders or even worst different drives. And what makes it more complicated is that you have to search for the file/folders then group and organinize them and lastly burn

them to disc and hopefully your have enough data to taking up the most amout of disc space. With your human calculator thur the organizing and grouping methods you see fit.
Then you burn the data to the disc with the burning progam which just does one disc. Then it starts all over again.
