Recently, my burner stop recognizing blank disks. I had just burnt a dvd, using convertxtodvd, then when I went to burn another it would not recognize the blank disk. When using the ConvertX it would parse the disk but in the end it would say "please insert a blank disk." Therefore, it is recognizing that I am putting a disk in the drive, just not that it is blank. I have also attempted to burn by dragging and dropping onto my drive and using Wizard. Again, it says to insert blank disk.

I can insert any disk and it will read it. This can be a CD or DVD disks. No problems reading.

Here is what troubleshooting I have done:
I have disabled and reenable the drive. Did not work
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drive. Did not work.
I ran a program that recognizes any device on the computer without a drive. Did not show.
I ran the FixIt program from Microsoft. It says that I have no burner on my drive.
I have used multiple disk, multiple brands. Did not work.

Here are the driver details of my drive:
C:\\windows\system32\drivers\Afc.sys (This one does not have a green check like the others in the list)
Provider: Arcsoft, Inc.
File version:1,0,0,2
Digital signer: Not digitally signed

C:\\Windows\system32\drivers\cdrom.sys
Provider: Microsoft Corp
File version: 5.1.2600.5593 (xpsp_sp3_qfe.080502-1245)

C:\\windows\system32\drivers\imapi.sys
Privider: Microsoft corp
file version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108)

c:\\windows\system32\drivers\redbook.sys
Provider: Microsoft corp
file version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108)

C:\\windows\system32\storprop.dll
Provider: Microsoft corp
file version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2108)

All of the above have a green check next to them except the first (Arcsoft). I am sure that is more info that you needed. But here is the most important part. I had installed a photo program by Arcsoft on my computer. After not using it enough to warrant keeping on the system, I deleted it. I may have deleted the wrong one.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

You can try removing any entries in the Registry for 'Upper Class Filter' and 'Lower Class Filter' and rebooting to recheck for the drive.
The simplest method (if you have the burning program, ImgBurn, installed) is to select 'Tools' > 'Filter Drive Load Order'

In the image, there is no entry for 'Upper Class Filter' - but there is an entry for 'Lower Class Filter'.
