Problems making a DVD with dolby stereo 5.1 with Encore

I made a DVD with ac3 files dolby stereo 5.1 and tje sound files with ac3 filter in Encore dvd 1.4 .
I read the Encore help and said that ac3 files do not need transcoding and when i see the dvd before i burn it, i have dolby stereo 5.1 but when i burn the dvd and play it, i can only hear as stereo.
What can i do?

How are you getting Dolby Digital 5.1 as Dolby Stereo?
Either it is 5.1 or it is Stereo. It cannot be both, unless you are using matrixed Dolby Surround (LCRS).

It could be that your player is not set up right - IF your PC is playing back matrixed Dolby Surround, then this is a stereo file. When put into your DVD player, if you have Dolby Digital as your default, you will ony hear stereo as the file is not true surround. To get this as a surround file you would need to enable ProLogic playback.

I can assure you that Encore does accept a Dolby Digita 5.1 stream, we use it regularly with no issues.

Can you give me some more details on your original workflow please? I will try to help you throughthis one, as Surround can be confusing at first - there are so many different ways of doing it!
