running vista with no problems for years.a few months ago the slowdown began.I researched and saw it was usually enabling dma.it was enabled, I unistalled the ide drivers rebooted and it worked.then sometime later the same thing happened.I did the same thing but now the fix lasted less time.now it won't do it at all.it takes 2 hours to copy and burn a dvd, a cd 25 minutes just to burn.any help is appreciated.not just in 1 burn program nero, dvd shrink both

got some verbatims and used imgburn but still writing st 0.7 x.it did burn successfully at least but to burn and verify it takes 2 hours, thanks once again
well it worked properly for 6 or 7 burns then back to slow down.I didn't do anything except switch a usb port from the printer to the external burner.tried again but nothing.maybe it has a usb issue no idea
the burner did disappear from the drive,I tried a bios update but I think it did not install.what I do to fix it is shut down and unplug from electric and reboot.the drive is back now.very odd stuff
also getting diginoise on the latter half of most but not all cd burns.1st 40 min is ok but then it starts skipping popping etc.after imgburn verifies it too.used diff cds although they are cheap ones admittedly
