I recently listened to a radio broadcast that I wanted to save and playback(maybe burn). It is at mms://rym.ligonier.org/broadcasts/rym20040427.wma#0;1.000;0;0;1:2.
The file is a 3,239 KB file that named itself 'rym20040427[1]ligonier.dat'. I found it in a temporary folder.
I copied it to my playlist, but none of my players will play it. I have Windows Media, Nero, & Quintessential players, but will play directly off of the internet. Any ideas? Thanx j_c

I am having a miserable time finding a media player that will play *.dat audio files. So far I have tried MS Media Player, Quinessential, Winamp, Streambox, dBpowerAmp, & Core Media Player.

Any good ideas?

Windows Media Player does save some streams as .dat files in the Temporary Internet Files. WMP can play these .dat files only from the TIF directory. There is no way to use these files any other way that I know of.

You have the Stream URL.
mms://rym.ligonier.org/broadcasts/rym20040427.wma

You use streaming media recording software to record the stream. This gives you a standard Windows Media file.

GetASFStream would be a good choice on this stream.
