DVD Ripping?Netbook Transfer

Hi Folks,
Apologies if in wrong room.

Santa is bringing my daughetr a Netbook for Christmas and I would like to transfer some of her DVD's, including new ones on to her machine.

I did a Google search, but it provided various examples and not a definitive one.

1. Would I rip the DVD (what's the best software)
2. After ripped, can I transfer to a USB drive then copy to the netbooks' hard drive (160gb)
3. Install software e.g. VLC player and watch.

The above might be incorrect, if so I would appreciate your assistance.

why not just copy the whole dvd to the laptop?

Hi ddp,

I will go for the flash drive option.

What would be the best software to rip/backup DVD to my laptop?

When data is ripped to my laptop do I just copy and paste to my HDD on the Netboob and then playback?

In relation to DVD ripping, one of the DVD's is Toy Story 3. Would I encounter any problems backing this up. Would like to put on Netbook.
