R1 disc not recognised

I've backed up a handful of R1 discs in the past using DVD Decrypter, however I have one which is just not recognised at all. DVD Decrypter doesn't even see it. It says something like the device is not ready. My DVD drive is R2 but this is not normally a problem. Any ideas ?
