scph 39001 is usualy a v7 ps2 and to boot your backup you will need either a internal no swap mod chip(which there are quite a choice for the v7)or the swapmagic discs with the flip top or slide card
to create your backups you can use any burning software that can create dvd images,some of the most popular burning software that is used are DVD Decrypter,Nero 6,record now

Just curious, how old are you -colt92-?
reason I ask is cause if you have a credit card we all can point in the right direction of purchasing a modded ps2, or flip top of your choice from many webb sites.
Not trying to sound rude but you have posted in a few differnt forums on how to back a game up or what to use to play backup's.
Just what exactally are you looking for?
1. do you have a dvd burner?
2. do you have any program's that burn's dvd's?
3. how much knowledge do have on burning cd's or dvd's?

no i have this burner called roxio
i have a mod chip in my ps1 and i burned a game to see if it would let me and it did
so i think that means i can burn ps2 games

ps1 are cd-rom
ps2 are dvd-rom
trying burning a ps2 game and see if it work's... if not then you do not have a dvd burner.

OH!! you need dvd media. Go to a office supply store and get the cheapest recordable dvd you can find, just to see if it works, but don't go buy like 25 or 50 of them. your only testing to see if you have a dvd burner
