Does anyone know anything about this one:

Illegal floating decimal point calculation order.

Such as, what is it, why does TMPG seem so fond of dying on it, and is there any way to get rid of it, short of just abandoning the computer for the hours it takes to encode a video stream? 'Cause I swear, if I get many more hours wasted from it, I'm gonna open up the box and rip the damn program off my computer the hard way...

why not just split it to two dvd-rs instead of encoding which wastes both time and quality? well tmpgenc has good quality but it takes like 4-7 hours on my cpu.

Har har. Actually it's a Celeron 766--I HAVE an old 486SX, but I don't think I'd try video editing on it.

Come on--I know people were burning DVDs before 2+GHz P4's came out, so I don't think I ought to need one to do this...

Just joking , old SX's didnt have a maths co-processor so floating point maths was tricky , DX's had one so they were OK . Amazingly enough an SX could still run almost anything , like doom etc with no difference so what does the maths coprocessor actually do ?

I used to get the same nasty error. If you have DVD2SVCD installed, this has its own virtualdub script reader installed, also into TMPEGencs VFAPI plugins... Just disable the ReadAVS.dll from environmental settings - VFAPI Plug-in. With me, everything started to work again! Hope it works for you aswell...
