playback prohibited by area limitations

I just copied some video_ts files with imgburn. When I put in the dvd it said playback prohibited by area limitations. What's the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks!!!!!

Do you mean it plays ok on the PC but the standalone DVD player gives that message?

Is it possible you are in North America and you created a PAL disk?

yeah it plays fine on the computer and yes im in north america. So its in the wrong format can I burn in again into the correct one?

You could use VOb2MPG to convert the vob files to a single mpg file then use the likes of DVD Flick to convert that file to an NTSC DVD.
Note that in converting from PAL to NTSC that you lose the original menu.

If your standalone player is DivX compatible, you could convert the PAL dvd files to avi using AutoGK.
