Help!
Firstly I am completely new to music downloads.
I have had a good look at the threads on here, but I apologise in advance if I have overlooked one that already covers the following:-
I would like to start downloading MP3 music from the NET to play in the house and also in my car. I would like to copy to CD-R. All of the standalone CD players that I own have the ability to play CD-R and also CDRW, but none of them have the facility to play MP3 music file formats.
Not wanting to be restricted to just playing the music on my P.C.,Firstly is it possible to convert MP3 into the same format as a normal CD so that I can play the music on my standalone players?
Secondly what is the format name of standard audio CD music that I could/should convert the MP3's to.
I have Nero 6 and Pinnicle 8, and AnyDVD. Would these programmes be sufficient for the task. If not are there freeware tools that you would recommend?
Hope to hear from some of you...
Thanks,
Dave.

02004976 / John,
No I haven't given up........sorry for the lack of reply, but it's been a real hectic week, where I have not had a proper opportunity to spend much time on P.C.
I been attempting to use a couple of P2P sites to obtain some MP3 files before I can try our your suggestions on the burning front; however, I think that It will take me a bit of time over the weekend getting to learn how to set up and use P2P before I can start burning.
Well thats a job for me over the weekend I guess and I'll post again when I have made further progress.
Cheers4now,
Dave.

Greetings,
Hope that you didn't think that I abandoned the thread....-extended period of illness, but I HAVE spent the past two days getting to grips with Kazza Lite. TOP programme, now have it sussed. Thanks for the recom.
I'm building up a collection of various tracks as we speak and I hope to tinker with the burning front tomorrow....:-))
If you are still on this thread, then thanks, and I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow.

This may be a bit late to ask, but if you have Windows XP, then why not just copy the MP3's to the CDR Drive? Windows will ask if you want a data (MP3) CD or an audio CD. I can only assume other programs (Nero, for example) will do a better job (sound better) of converting and copying the files.

1- downloading from p2p of copyright files is piracy so i hope your not going to do that
2-Kazaa is crap for music, full of corrupted/ruined files
3-I would recommend downloading mIRC and reading up on how to use that

i would recommend buying cds rip it and encode into ogg vorbis
the only good download sites is the ones that you pay, check out, i think its "all of mp3".
its legal in russia, and i don't know elsewhere. its like a penny a song, you pay by the size, it also offers lossless formats like flac.
my 2 cents

All the music I download are in MP3 format but when I burn them they burn in standard cd format and I have to do nothing to change it. I use Real One Player the free one and unless you get the upgrade that cost money you cant use the mp3 format to burn cd's but you can burn MP3 downloads, so you should not have to change the format of the file.
