Sup yall,
I've tmpgenc before to make vcds, but now, trying to convert a 2 hour .avi movie to dvd-ready mpeg, it takes tmpgenc 18 (eighteen) hours to analyze and convert. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

It depends on your system specs. Encoding is incredibly CPU intensive and will generally use all you can give it. With CCE, which is about twice as fast as TMPGEnc, it takes anywhere between 1/2 and 3/4 the running time of the video to encode on my PC, which is a P4 2.4GHz/768MB PC2100 RAM.

I find MainConcept MPEG Encoder to be the fastest [easy to use too, plus it gives good quality if source file is good] :P)
