Help with a write error please

i recieve Write Error UDF 5 65536 all the time now

I understand that there have been many threads about this error, but i have read most of them and none have given me a clear answer on how to defeat this problem. I think that afterdawn should have a special section/article about this error.

if anyone can clarify how to stop this error from happening i would greatly appreciate it.

btw, i use a sony 510a , i have used memorex, verbatum and a bunch of other media that is supposed to work fine with my burner
also i use the following software (in order of how often i use them)
Clonedvd
Alcohol120
DvdShrink/Nero
(and of course anydvd)

Clone Dvd Error: Udf 5 65536

Did you try to shut down AnyDVD when you are burning ?

Try it and it should stop that error.

i have tried shutting down anydvd during the writing phase
this worked once out of about 50 tries

Try the latest version of AnyDVD with DVD Shrink and burn with Nero. You could also try AnyDVD with Nero Recode ; that is what i use.

btw, when i recieve the write error 'udf 5 65536' it is still at 0%, so i can reuse all of these discs
its not like it burns half of the movie and then quits on me
i dont know if that is usefull information or not but i hope someone knows how to fix this

Jeanc1: I like the ANYDVD=Nero Recode 2 combo,nice & easy to use,has anyone tried the speed boost setting under the Drive tab in ANYDVD ie fast & noisy setting,I have tried the Sony program DSS (drive speed select)but its a bit unstable,ripped a 130min movie in 9-10mins.ispy
