DVD9 in AVI format

I'm trying to decode a DVD9 format movie that was encoded to an AVI. I am trying to fit this movie onto a regular DVD but it is about 60MB to large. I first tried to burn it to a VCD but quickly threw that option out! I've used Nero Ultra 6.3, Pinnacle Studio 9, Roxio 7.0.

Have tried the latest versions of:
DVD Shrink
Virtual Dub
DVD Decrypter
TMPGEnc
and none can open the AVI(DVD9)file.

Can someone help with advice as how I can burn to DVD?

If it's an AVI and VirtualDub can't open it I'd say you have codec issues. Do you have the correct codec installed to play it? If not, you'll need to because, just like playing, encoding to MPEG-2 requires the file to be decompressed first.

Hey Thanks for the input! I've tried different codecs and a new version of Virtual Dub. Now I'm having problems with Virtual Dub crashing on my system, so the problems continue.

Are you using VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod, and what version? I know the latest version (or maybe 2 - I can't remember) of VirtualDubMod sometimes crashes on my PC, but I haven't had that problem with VirtualDub (the P4 optimized version).
