Asus dvd-r/rw drive wont record audio cds

Hi All,

I Have a Asus drw-0402P/dvd-+r/rw drive dual format the problem i have is this it will not record music cds, however it will do my backup dvds ok.as i understand it is there 2 lasers in a writer 1 for dvds and one for audio cds?. At the moment i have a dvdrom drive and a 52 speed Samsung cd writer with 2 hard drives, Can i put the writer in where the dvd rom drive is until i can get another dvd writer?
