Bought a new LG GH24LS70 as part of my new build. No issues using this software with my old IDE Lite On unit but now have been making dvds that play on pc but won't load in dvd player. Updated LG to latest firmware and tried burning as low as 4X with no joy.

Try saving the output from ConvertX to a folder,.
Download and run ImgBurn.
 Click 'Write files/folders to disc'.
Click Tools > Settings > Write > check the button for 'Perform OPC before write' and OK back to the main screen.

Load or drag in the Video_TS folder.
 Insert a blank.
Click the 'Device' tab and note the available burn speeds for this disk on this burner.
Select a moderate burn speed and burn the disk.

If the burn fails, exit and restart ImgBurn.
 Click Help > Imgburn logs.
Either copy/paste the log here or take it to the ImgBurn support Forum.

Thank you for the suggestions Attar, very much appreciated.
Based on the 2 pop-up errors from IMGBurn, "Program Memory Area Update Failure" and "Session Fixation Error - Incomplete Tracking Session", I googled and found the following:

It looks like my choice of a $25. (sale-priced) LG Lightscribe burner might not have been wise :-(.

Unless Ive mis-read something, Ill be heading back to the store for an exchange tomorrow.

So it would seem that the burn is good - but the disk doesn't get finalized?
Could you post your ImgBurn log and do a follow up post if the problem is resolved - just so that it can be referred to if the question comes up again.

Here's the complete log file. I've removed the LG burner and will try to exchange it for a Sony AD-7261S-0B Black SATA DVD Writer LightScribe 24x DVD-/+R 48x CD-R instead.
I'll try burning with it and do a f/up post to advise.

Seeing this "Duplex Secure's SPTD driver can have a detrimental effect on drive performance." got me thinking. I uninstalled both IMGBurn and Alcohol 120%, leaving "ConvertXtoDvd" as the only burning software.
Tried burning "27 Dresses" , no errors reported and it's now playing perfectly in my home theatre system. I'll experiment with a few other flicks to see if that was the fix.

Strange to me that for years that I've had both "Convert" and "Alcohol" installed with my old IDE Lite-On burner with no issues whatsoever.

The Program Memory Update problem referred to on the ImgBurn site was specific to Liteon burners - but yours is an LG (as are mine).
Would it be possible (now that you have uninstalled Alcohol) to try ImgBurn again and, if successful, post a new log.

I do recall from past posts that 'Creaky' determined that Nero and Alcohol didn't mix;wonder if it's the same for ImgBurn and ConvertX.

I appreciate your assistance;it would be helpful for others in the future if you can pin down a potential conflict.

							Thanks again Attar,
No problem, I'll give it a go when I get Home from Work tonight.

I burned 1 other dvd after my last post with perfect results.

Well, it took some more coaster burns to figure it out.
I had to go here to remove registry entires left behind by Alcohol120% - http://duplexsecure.com/downloads.
I used the SPTDinst-v180-x64.exe to remove it.

Tried a few things before I came up with a workable solution.

Use ConvertXtoDVD to convert the .avi to a workable file folder. Verify in it's log that the conversion worked o.k. and that it's not a PAL version.
Close ConvertX... and open ImgBurn. Use it in the Build mode first, once done set the burning speed to 4X (even though it says the min. is 8X), load the file folder then burn successfully :-)!
