I have had a dvd+r burner for about 7 months.I don't know what kind it is but I got it with dvd x-copy for $99.It has an 8mb buffer and burns dvd+r at 4x.Anyway,movies started to skip a little then they started skipping a lot until finally they wouldn't even play in my dvd player.I have emailed 321 studios 3 times but I keep getting an automated response.I can burn regular cd-r's fine and it can still read dvd's and it writes fine to dvd+rw discs. Is there a separate laser for rw discs? My dvd player doesn't play rw .I've tried uninstalling and stuff but it didnt work, now it says its burning the discs but it doesnt even do that.I guess its time for a new drive, any comments would be appreciated. Thanks,Todd

Try updating the firmware and software on dvdxcopy + burner. Also, the dics may be crapy, try using the recommended media.

Sounds like poor media. What media are you using?

Can it write +R's?

So you still have a blank ... or are you ending up with coasters?

Now .... need a bit more info. What version of XCopy are you using? System specs? And to find out which media to buy, check your dvd players compatibility at http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

It appears that on the dvd+r discs they are blank, even after burning. But the rewritables are burning fine.I've tried a few differant types of discs and none work.I don't use dvd x copy much anymore,I mostly use dvd dycrypter,Nero and intervideo dvd copy.My system is an athlon 1700+ with 512 ram and 140g hard drive space.I also have an ati all in wonder 9600 pro.My guess is the laser is gone and it must use a differant laser for the rewritables.

Well I don't know about that, let's not get toooo scienific :)

So if your able to burn RW's and not +/-R's, try updating your aspi layer: http://forceaspi18.w.interia.pl/

Also, I have XCopy Platinum and very rarely use it ... but if I wanted to I can. My point being if you've got it might as well get it to work.
