Alright so I ordered the fancy clear flip-top for my ps2 today. I installed it and it was actually working. (able to play my backup dvd-r's and the swap magic disk)...Well, now whenever I put anything in it, it spins the cd once (remember, its clear so I can see the cd) and then stops. It's really annoying cuz it just stopped working outta nowhere it seems. Any advice?

Yeah, did that :-/ I also tried to push the cable that goes into the laser in. I was also tweaking with this white thing. I cannot remember what it's called though. It's like a plastic wheel that you can spin around. (not sure what it does) Anyway thanks for the advice, if you can give some more I'd be forever greatful. (I want to surprise my 14yr old for his birthday. Thanks again

ok so you have tried cleaning and adjusting the laser also check that you didn't trap/dammage the ribbon cable to the reset/eject buttons

Crap...do you have AIM? I'd like to talk to you more direct about my problem. I'm willing to pay the person with the suggestion that fixes my ps2. I assumed the ribbon cable going into the reset/eject switch was only for the tray door which is working fine. I heard replacing that cable is a pain in the a**? Help! LOL I will pay you if you help me! Should any white be showing on the cable going into the laser? Cuz I can see about a centimeater of white on the normally orange cable. I hope this isint true because I have been turning the white dial thingie every which way with no luck...god maybe I have the white disk on the top upside down?!? While turning the white dial, should I notice it improving more and more? Cuz I haven't. It spins half turn, then stops. And with the cover off (my eyes!!!) the laser comes up and flashes once, so I don't think it's dead. Any more advice? $$$
