Hi...im new at this forum...

And I have found a little bit of help in this post:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/82485

But I can't reply to it, because...you know...
I have the same problem, and my motherboard is an ECS L4S8A2...

My question is...should I try the SAME like iraj did?

Didnt see the Subject...

Bios Checksum Error
Boot Block Error

This could be due to a hardware failure, incompatible hardware, or a BIOS Failure.

Have you added any hardware recently?

Best option is try Flashing the Bios.

To me this should be your motherboard http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/l4s8a2.html

Download the 1.0c Update and use the instructions http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/flashAward.html

That should help you. If you have any questions, just ask and ill try and help.

Hi again...

I have first read your answer today...
And my computer OS is:

Microsoft Windows XP

This problem startede with my graphiccard...
The driver to my monitor (card) nv4_disp.dll (I think I spell rigth)

Not have its so good...everytime (beforce bootblock)
The computer sometimes give me the blue screen if I go into a game...

And in the game there was lines out from the cars (vice city) and heads on people in other games...

Someones tell me to update it on Windows Update.
I go to Windows Update...install the update to my Nvidia Card...and restart...BANG! BootBlock...WTF?

My graphiccard is a: Nvidia Geforce4 Ti4200 with 8xAGP.
Its maybe not help on this..but I have to write it...

But I try that with flasing the bios?
But it not support XP?

Sounds like the Graphics card could be faulty.

Try taking out the graphics card and putting it in again.

Windows Update Drivers arnt any good, i dont bother with them

Go to the Nvidia site and download updated drivers. Unintall the old drivers - http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Right Click My Computer,- > Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Display adapter (Right Click and go Uninstall) Dont restart.

Install the new drivers and then restart the comptuer.

Do you still get that error?

Sounds more like a card, then Driver problem though...

Try restting the BIOS battery and/or (preferably OR first), using some form of "fail-safe BIOS settings"

On the contrary, if I understand you right, the windows drivers are quite good -- they dont have much performance value but they certainly have stability and troubleshooting value :) ... i'd stilll use the nvidia drivers though

if the video card isnt messed up, is it possible the RAM is slightly scrambled? :)

BIOS and OS are two different worlds. It will work with XP.

From the manufacturer's website i would presume. They also have detailed instructions (usually) on how to get going :)
