If you only extract audio from your DVD, you may use Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper. It is able to extract the audio tracks and save as MP3/WAV format.

DVD Audio Ripper will NOT copy a DVD-Audio disc.
It copies/rips audio from DVD-Video discs only.

To copy a DVD-Audio disc that is an "official" disc, ie a pressed, replicated one, is not possible if it is copy protected. There are no rippers out there that are capable of demuxing the AOB files, and neither can they break the CPPM copy protection either.
If the Audio is in MC MLP format, you cannot extract that either, as there are no software decoders available. They do not exist.

You can, however, copy unprotected discs using either Steinberg WaveLab 5, or minnetonka DiscWelder Chrome.

Ok, im not an expert on how it works or anything, but cant you connect the dvd player to your computer and record it with the sound recorder via the soundcard line-in?

You most certainly can.
You'll need 6 inputs to get the MC versions, or just 2 will get the stereo.

What I perhaps should have said is that you cannot digitally copy or rip a protected DVD-A.

As long as you can hear it, you can make analogue copies & re digitize at the same time, and if your soundcard is good enough then I doubt anyone will be able to tell the difference.
