Hi, I'm a mac user and I've searched for answers specifically for what I'm asking, but I couldn't find any. Maybe I missed them, if so, I apologize, but I'd really appreciate some help!

I have is 5 .movs that I'd like to put onto one DVD. However they're too long or too big to fit if I choose the VIDEO -> DVD option in toast 6 (It will only allow me to fit 3 of the 5). So what I want to do is just encode them into VOBS and a VIDEO_TS folder then use DVD2OneX to make it small enough to just burn as a DVD-ROM (UDF) in toast instead of using toasts encoder.

I know that FFMPEG can post process the video files and create a VIDEO_TS folder and .VOBS, but that requires encoding the videos again. If I choose passthrough to make FFMPEG skip the encoding process, then it won't post process as a VIDEO_TS folder. It's a problem because I don't want to change the aspect ratio etc... of my video and FFMPEG won't allow me to post process them if I'm using the settings I've chosen. Also, I can't use DVD Studio Pro to build the VIDEO_TS folder because it doesn't support the aspect ratio I'm trying to use either. Only 16:9 and 4:3.

I know that if I have the processed DVD folder and Vobs that I can use toast and it will keep the proper aspect ratio and that's what I'm looking to do!

So after all that ramblind and repetitiveness, I need an encoding program where I can just take my videos and create the DVD folder with the .vobs!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Merc

Hi. I am not sure I have understood the process you described, but I will try to help you by giving you my "version" of how you could maybe achive what you want.

At first, you need a video editing software such as VirtualDub, Ulead VideoStudio, or Adobe Premiere Pro. The last one is quite expensive, but I can only help you with this.

If you take each of your videos and import them in the Premiere (or others), then you will have the timeline with all of the videos you want to pass to a DVD. Then, you should export/encode the whole new video to a DVD-Format (MPEG2), which will be a suitable video file to burn to a DVD. I think that Premiere also offers to directly burn it to a DVD.

I don't know if this helps you at all...
