Hi guys does anyone have either of the following drives NEC2510 or the LG GSA 4120BA drives yet and if so have you put them through the pace and how good are they.I think i started a thread simular to this when they first hit the market but most of us then were all mainly on single layer drivers. Now these have been out a little longer as was wondering if we could help me with this one.

Dunno about them drives specifically but I'd prolly put my money on the NEC (that is, if they are roughly evenly prices) simply because I'm personally aware of the final quality of LG burners, CD or otherwise. I'm not a real fan of NEC either but I'd give them a whirl before I bash them (or not).

Thanks for that Praetor i have never tried the NEC drives.Must be honest though before i knew anything about the pc world i once bought a purpose built pc from time pc.This was an excellent pc at the time were going back a while amd 500mhz with 64mb memory 13gb hard drive. At the time it was the bees knees did everything a pc could at the time. This pc had a LG cdrw drive which was excellent even though it was only 4 x speed it never let me down. You could pretty much ask it to copy a bag of worms sort of speach and it would it was a great drive at the time.In the UK at the moment the LG Drive is around £63 where the NEC is a low £51.I would try a sony for around £130 but iam trying to budget with my dosh because i want other upgrades as well.I know greedy man but iam now trying to be more sensible with the way i purchase instead of rush out and buy which i normally do when something new comes out.My wife calls me a pc nerk because iam never happy with what ive got but there again i always say think yourself lucky i do not trade in my wife like i do pc parts.Even though this is my second and last nag i find them more exspensive than pc parts. So what i try to do now is bank my bits and bobs until i have the right cash. This works but she always seems to come home when iam in the middle of chaneing parts. She moans becuase i have and amd 1800mhz and 1600mhz fully built in the other rooms i have not moved on yet but i simply say what is another part.Iam fully comitted to the pc world home and at work i do not go out on the booze all night so hey i want pc part , part and so on.Sorry for going on but now you might have an idea why it is impotant for me to get this drive right as it may be my last for a while.Mind you iam thinking blue ray writers in the back of my head.(The Next Edition)
Thanks
Much Appreciated
