This is my first post and i appreciate if somebody could respond to my question.

Had a question on burning Movies using DVD shrink. I have the latest version of DVD shrink but the movies that i backup are usually Hindi DVD movies that has the size of 8 to 10GB size. Now considering the size of 4.7 GB, DVD shrink reduces the compression ratio automatically.

WAs wondering what would be best alternative to this if you do not want to comprise the Quality of the backed up movie. Are there any DVD+/- discs more than the usual capacity of 4.7GB or is there any other tool other than DVD Shrink that would copy the 8-9 GB movies with tsame quality. Will DVD XCOPY do that or is there anyother effecient tool?

Thanks in advance !!

Anytime you compress a movie you going to give up some quality. If you want don't want to lose any quality, try using 2 dvd's or get a dual layer burner and use dual layer media.

Never used DVDFab. I've only done it with XCopy Platinum. Someone mentioned it can be done with Shrink, but I've never done it.

myakoob, if you do not mind losing the menus, splitting to two discs can easily be done with DVD Shrink.

The version of DVD Shrink used in this guide is fairly old (v2.3), but the same principle applies when using newer versions.
