This happens with TMPGEnc when one file is bigger than the other
eg multiplexing 90mins of video with 90mins & 30 seconds of audio. The extra 30 seconds of audio will keep playing after the vcd is finished. If you have another movie on the vcd it may cause it to be out of sync!
However, if its a full length movie that you'll be putting on a disk or two, then there shouldn't be a problem.
Of coarse, the problem could also be a damaged video stream or audio stream probably from another encoder!
Hmmm...Although what you are saying makes perfect sense, what I am experiencing doesn't quite fit into your explanation.
After ripping the audio of the .avi file from VirtualDub, I then convert to MPEG (following guide instructions). I then De-multiplex the MPEG, convert the audio to 48000, and then I receive the error message when I multiplex.
No additional audio or video footage was added to the files, the only properties changed was the audio. So technically, since each of the files are the same length, I shouldn't be receiving this particular error.
Unfortunately I have ran into other problems. I believe because of this error (the only one I am running into currently) I cannot browse after a certain point in the film. It freezes up.
When I go into Ulead DVD Factory to set my chapter points, I can't complete that task. I can only assume. =(
You converted the audio to 48000???? If its vcd you're creating, it should be 44100. Aswell, if the stream is over 320kbit/s its not compatible with mpeg-1.
Also try using audio layer 2 when using mpeg-layer 1 because it seems to go off without a hitch
However, in order to place my VCDs on a DVD it needs to be compatible. So I don't have much of a choice. =(
I tried something different today. Rather than splitting the audio, I decided to take the entire .mpeg file and convert it to 16:9 source ratio (wide screen is goodness). Once that finishes, then I'll try editing the chapter points from there. Since I'm not using Spruce Up it makes no point to split the audio/video.
I got that same problem along time ago. It was because I had converted the audio wrong. 48000 will cause the audio to be bigger then it should be for a vcd format. try 41000 and get back to us ....
