I have an lg electronics dvd rom on my pc operating with windows xp. I have tried downloading a number of dvd player programs to get it to play dvds. Each time i get a message saying " insert dvd into player and press ok" nothing seems to work. help

You will probably need a program such as Power DVD or Win DVD in order to play your DVD's. Windows Media Player (standard) does not incorporate the appropriate Codecs.
