I use the same method everytime to burn, DVD Decrypter to decrypt and DVD Shrink 3.1 to shrink and burn. Lately, a lot of the movies backed up onto 4.7gb DVDR+/- are not playing on my player, but some still are. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have followed the guide on this website and I'm doing as it says. Even used Nero as the burning software. No luck. Any ideas guys?

if the backups work fine on computer, its not a coaster, what you have id say is a compatability problem.
Have you changed media recently?? maybe your standalone doesnt like the discs, or needs a lense cleaner??

Thanx for the feedback. Unfortunatly, some of the discs I've burnt DO play. It's intermittent. WE have a JVC TH-A75R player. Damn nice (6.1 etc). We also have a RONIN P807 in the bedroom and it plays everything fine. We've got copies from other people on the same media - Datawrite Red and they all play fine. Tried all the methods on the Afterdawn website guides and they still do it. When trying to burn with Nero though, the burn fails before it starts. Any suggestions on THAT one would be good too. I think it's something to do with my software or burn methods, although I'm using DVD Decrypter (latest) and DVD Shrink 3.1.

Have got a copy of RecordNow. Not very self-explanitory. How do you burn the movies? Do I still use Decoder and Shrink as normal? If so, where does Recordnow come in to it?

I compiled a guide which was posted on a website for Recordnow - very easy to use indeed when you have used it a couple of times.......

Unfortunately the website for some reason is no longer available.

However I can mail it to you if you PM me with your email address - DO NOT POST YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THIS THREAD............

The guide is zipped up and is around 870Kb.......let me know if you want it............

I am having the same problem. When I burn a DVD on Showbiz, my JVC DVD states 'incorrect disk'. Would using RecordNow solve this? If so, I would be interested in a copy of your guide, PLEASE.

DVD Shrink does not burn - DVD Decrypter does.

Try ripping with DVD Shrink and enable preferences to allow burning with DVD Decrypter if using ISO mode.

Your problem appears to be more media related - either poor quality media or the use of labels on burnt media - with either of these problems you will get inconsistent results and/or freezing/stuttering.
