I need your help to resolved this problem.

A friend of mine was finally able to backup my old Laser Discs of the Original Star Wars Trilogy. My player has been broken for years, but he managed to get ahold of an old working one, and was able to copy the video files to my hard drive. I in turn took these VOB files (see below) and burn them to DVD. It works PERFECTLY on my computer. My PowerDVD player comes right up and plays the orignal Star Wars movie flawlessly with menus and all. However, when I went to play it on my DVD player, it starts to loads up as if it's going to accept it, but it never does, and comes to a stop, never showing anything.

Here is the exact list of all the files:

VIDEO_TS.BUP (8kb)
VIDEO_TS.IFO (8kb)
VTS_01_0 (86kb) (VOB File)
VTS_01_0.BUP (80kb)
VTS_01_0.IFO (80kb)
VTS_01_1 (1,048,244kb) (VOB File )
VTS_01_2 (1,048,308kb) (VOB File )
VTS_01_3 (1,048,286kb) (VOB File )
VTS_01_4 (1,048,460kb) (VOB File )
VTS_01_5 (189,174KB) (VOB File )
VTS_02_0.BUP (12kb)
VTS_02_0.IFO (12kb)
VTS_02_1 (45,828kb) (VOB File)

I'm running Windows XP, with a 2.8Ghz Intel, and a Sony DRU500A DVD Burner.

What brand of media are you using? And have you tried playing the backup in another standalone player?

I think the problem I discovered (on another forum) is in authoring software. From the Home DVD's standpoint, its important that the files are burned onto the disc in the right order. My placing them over there directly from the hard drive doesn't work, because they are in alphabetical order. The computer DVD player (PowerDVD) on the other hand is smarter than your average player and is able to grab the right files first.
