I dont have any idea what i am doing wrong. i've tried many different methods to back up numerous seasons (Friends, Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and i cant seem to get anything to work. when i finish the process, it only writes the first episode on the blank media and nothing else is transferred. Please help if you have any idea what I should do.

Sounds like you are selecting only the first VOB to be burned. Why don't you tell us what programs you are using.

well ive tried it just using DVDX Platinum and that doesnt work for me. ive also tried ripping with Smart ripper, then using DVD2One, then burning with Instant DVD or whatever thats called. i havent had a problem with either method with any other DVDs except the episodic discs.

If you have ripped the movie with SmartRipper, you may have selected a "movie only" rip, hence only one episode being present after you have burnt. Remember I am saying you "may" have here.

You would need to rip the entire disk using the "files" option within SmartRipper or DVD Decrypter, that way the whole disk will be ripped. These files can now be loaded into DVD2One (backup using "full disk mode")

A very easy way to back up your episodic disk, without compression, would be to use the "re-author" mode in DVD Shrink. This way you could easily select the titles you want, or don't etc. But there is a draw back, the menu function will be totally lost.

Hope it helps.
