My nd-2510a drive only burns at 2.4x. what do i do?

I hav just bougt the nd-2510a drive, and it only buns at 2.4x. everything i have read about it says it's able to burn at 8x. please help.
i'm using Nero 6.317

What Media are you using ?

NEC in North America is strickly an OEM provider. There site has no firmware updates, you are told to contact your supplier.

However there are a few specialized web sites where you can look for a better firmware. Do a Google search hacked Firmware.

Mind you i would definately look into getting good media first.
