DVD43 messed up my folder protection?

I have a win2k SP4 machine. I was experimenting with some various DVD backup software when I decided to try OneClick. It had me install a second Patin Couffin engine (DVD43 1.4) to make it work. The software worked fine. After Ichanged my IDE from PIO to UDMA (How did that get changed anyways?)

Then I uninstalled bothe the DVD43 and OneClick and reinstalled Xcopy Express. It works fine too.

BUT. I was also using a folder protection software called "folder protect" which allowed me to right-click a folder and password protect it. Then When I wanted to open it, I would have to right click it and put in a password. It allowed me to keep kids out of certain folders I use for keeping customer data.

Well, it no longer works. Well, It works, but what used to be a protected file becomes a normal file with a really long name and has a cfg file in the folder. When I "unlock" the folder, it goes back to normal. This is with DVD43 uninstalled and I have reinstalled the folder protect and reinstalled it as well.

Has anyone had any problems with the patin-couffin engine causing problems with folder encryptino on their hard drive? Just curious. The manufacturer is just as lost as I am and it is the only thing I can think of. Thanks!
