Hi there all - I'm almost entirely new to the DVD authoring game and having a few problems with my chosen program, DVD Flick. As the title suggests, when I try to add a different image to the DVD menu it gives me a 'runtime error 91 object variable not set' or something along those lines.

I added a custom image to the templates folder, simply replacing 'back.bmp' with an identically sized image I created in gimp. I tried making a new template (a seperate folder copied from one of the existing ones with my own image) and also replacing the file in an existing template (the plain black one), but no joy.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks!

Andy (:

It's not as simple as replacing an image.

I think AVStoDVD allows you to edit menu's (AVStoDVD\Menu\Templates)by replacing Background.bmp and that program is still updated regularly.

Thanks for the link, but I can't get anything useful out of this file. It describes in detail the values of almost everything in the template.cfg file without actually telling you how to do a basic image substitution (unless I'm missing something).

I actually tried avstodvd but gave up fairly early as it wouldnt let me output to .iso. I was following a basic guide step by step and in that you just select .iso in the output menu, but in my menu the bottom 2 options including .iso weren't available. If anyone has a fix to this or the Flick problem I'd be much obliged.

Thanks,

A (:

Thanks folks - I found a solution that worked for me, which was to use the template listed on a page of the digital digest forum. (As a new member I can't post a link - do a search for dvd flick menu templates and you should find it) About half way down theres a post from Ed Wood with 10 .zip packages of templates for DVD Flick - if you download number 5 theres a template called photo background, put this in your template directory, replace 'photo.jpg' with one of your own and Bobs your uncle.
