i have a new nec(mad dog) nd-2510a dual layer burn,and the stupid thing only reads at 4x max and gets reading errors using decrypter,alcohol 120,dvd x copy ,etc.
changed setting and still no speed Boost is there new driver updates or something i should do?
my other dvd burner in my pc hp200i works fine,maybe installation Problems.running nec as slave ,came with nero oem suite and no drives software
please help

First thing I would do is put the Nec as Master on second IDE. Then check device manager and make sure IDE channels are all set for DMA if available, NOT SET FOR PIO. Most OEM drives are sometimes locked into a slower ripping speed by the firmware. Not sure on your drive but if it is then you need a hacked firmware to unlock the rip speed. Check this site, your drive may be too new for a hack.
