I have just recently bought a HP pavilion PC and I just purchased some memorex DVD-R's to copy onto but it does not work and says please insert a blank DVD into the rewriter drive?! please can you help? thanks egg333...

Hi egg333, welcome to AD. We may need some more information but you might be able to check this your self. You need to find out the manufacturer and model of your burner drive and then see if it burns dvd-r blanks. It may be a +r burner only and therefore won't see the -r discs. Once you know the name and model of the drive you can check this site for media compatibility.

Also Memorex blank media isn't a good choice for dvd movie backups, but the drive should at least see the disc if it uses -r media.
