i have successfully been backing up my dvds for a while on the work LG burner using nero and dvd shrink and ARITA dvd-rs

recently i bought a new NEC dual layer drive (2510?!?)

the problem is i tried to duplicate one that i had done at work on my home system and every disk is showing up with cyclic redundancy check failures. BUT i can still backup DVDs that hadnt been made at work.. any ideas?

neither the writer OR the reader i have can read the full disk! HELP?!

hi

had same problems! with bulkcrap orange! can make dvdr's no sweat! try copy the thing after a month or so get CRC errors!

i came to the conclusion degrading cheap media! on lots of films!

i use RITEK only now as its the top i can buy!

run it through one of the dvd info programs, or DVD Decrypter even and see what manufacturer it says.

hmmmm - tried ripping a disk that i had created on home machine and it worked fine... using same disks - will try running a check on em as suggested tonight
