I was getting the following error message in Nero 6 while copying a dvd : Unknown BurnPhase
...which I sorted by upgrading my version to 6.0.0.23 and now says 'creating image for burn' as before.
However, when it comes to the insertion of blabk disc it states that my discs are unreadable ! I have an LG Super Multi DVD Drive which is about 6 months old and am using the same Datawrite DVD-R discs that I've always used.
I heard there were problems with curtain LG drives. Could this mean my drive has gone being as its stopped recognising the blank media or is it somthing that can be sorted ?

What media are you using? do you have a different make of media to try? Your DVD burner is also a DVD Player, have you tried playing a movie in it yet? Also try and play an ordinary CD, if none of these work then it might be your LG that's bad.

The media I'm using are Datawrite Red (V3) 4.7GB 4x DVD-R from Datasafe Media which are the ones I've used from day 1. I've used the Bulqpak Orange DVD-Rs as well but its just stopped recognising them all of a sudden !
I'll try using another burner app as well and see if that works but it seems very strange for a pretty new burner to just give up and die this quickly !
Tried playing movies in it as well and they work fine ! :(

Let's try something and see if we can't awaken your drive. You didn't post your operating system so I'm going to assume that you're using XP or Win2K. Follow these steps.
Go to my computer on your desktop and right click it,choose hardware, device manager, look in the list for DVD/CD-Drom drives, expand it by clicking on the plus sign to your left. Locate your drive, right click on it, choose unintall, and reboot. This woon't cause you any harm and might fix your problem.
A word on the medi you're using, it's crap and probably will have short life span. Go here for good quality media a low price. You'll note that you can buy a 100 disc cake box of Ridata for $50.99 and this is excellent media.

Thanks Sophocles.
Unfortunately, that didn't work & I tried a different and more expensive media as well.
I think my drive is well & truely fried ! I've contacted the supplier and LG because its still under warranty and I've heard bad things about LG DVD drives....pitty it was after I'd bought it !!
Anyway, I've tried pretty much everything apart from trying a mates drive in my machine, which I'm gonna try tonight and then get another make of drive.
Can you recommend a good drive which isn't too expensive...I've heard good things about the Liteons & Pioneer drives ??
Thanks to everyone for your input ;)

The Pioneer 107 is about as good as it gets and for a very reasonable price as well :)
The Lite-Ons are great drives too.
My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.
