Hi all, I just wonder if anyone knows how can I get actual writing speed (2X, 4X etc) in RecordNow MAX for my 2510A instead of just "Max, Mid, Min" ??
I have search aroun the net and I have tried the method where I install Recordnow 7 , save up the pxdrv.dll and other pxengine file.. and reinstall RN4.5.. and copy over those PXEnging...
still no luck ...
I wonder if any can help ?
P.S. I check, DMA is on ... and in DVD Decryptor... I was able to select burn speed in 1X, 4X etc ....
but I want to user RecordNow to make data and CD and such..
It really makes little difference, i have that drive as well and you can always just select max speeds... the machine will only write as fast as the media allows... and dont worry about errors, ive burned many a dvd while playing games or what not, with the Justlink technology is hard to get a bufferunderun.
I've been a fan of RecordNow for some time but you hit on one of the two minor quibbles I have with it - no exact burn speed selection. It's unfortunate since RecordNow is such a wonderful burning app otherwise :)
My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

As of now, Recordnow has not been implemented to support the new NEC2510a DL burner - dam shame as I have just purchased one........having only max/mid/min is a definate sign of an unsupported drive.
I have heard there is something pending, but nothing specific as of yet.....
Boohoo - it looks like I am going to have to run with Nero to get full advantage of the NEC capabilities - however I am resisting, and will probably hold out for a Recordnow solution..........
As 2005 said.....it'll burn upto the burner/media max's speed....
Nephilim, yes I agree with the speed selection issues, on supported drives it seems like it flags up the cd burning specs, rather than the dvd ones.......small shame but does not affect the simplicity and solid burns it can produce........
Glad to hear you are receiving some good results.....
However, I shall abstain from Nero for now - I am in no rush to get my DL burner up and running, she is sat nicely in her box under my desk awaiting for some Recordnow advances......
Bad experience with Nero in the early days, and from what I can see it still hasn't improved any - TOO many frequent updates (bug fixes) for my liking - kinda tells me they don't road test it thoroughly before releasing it and rely soley on feedback from users - bad marketing in my opinion........
However do not misconstrue my comments about Nero, I just don't like to use it.............and Recordnow does the job that I want it to do, and that is burn data............
Ive never had a problem with Nero, i had to update mine at first when i noticed that version 5.5 didnt detect my NEC ND 2510A. Works great but to each his own i say
