The list for 2-sheep DVD burners is a very short one.

If you want the best, get either the Plextor PX-708A or 712. Both are confirmed 2-sheepers and I can personally attest to the capabilities of the 708A. I just made a perferct working copy of Painkiller (SafeDisc 3.2) with my 708A that works in all three of my drives.

The Lite-On 8xx series are said to be 2-sheepers as well though I can't personally attest to the fact.

And that's the list :)

If you are familar with alcohol 120% ( a must have for game backups) then you will appriceate that this drive does gets DPM at max settings and it is a 2 sheep burner.

I do use Alcohol 120 and thats why i posted this thread, i wanted to make sure the DVD RW that i buy is up to the job of backing up both my new pc games with the new copy protection and also backup my dvd's.

By the way what do you mean buy gets DPM at Max settings?..... is that good?

some of the new securom games require a dmp (data positon measurement) for the disk because it takes physical measures of the data on the disk and requires it to be in a certiant physcial part of the cd.

The drive i was talking about was the NEC ND 2510A, and just so you know as of now alcohol 120% cannot back up games which are on dvd and have copy protection.

Getting correct DPM measurments is crucial in certiant types of disk protections (e.g. Warcraft 3 TFT) without a good reading the backup will not function. This drive (nec ND 2510a) gets DPM at its highest setting. And yes this is a feature of alcohol only that i know of.
