Burning a Dual Layered DVD+R

OK...I just bought my first dual layered DVD. I want to use it to make an exact 1:1 copy of one of my dvd movies. I have a Lite-On SOHW-832S DVD Burner with the latest firmware. How do I burn a dual layered dvd? Is there a setting a need to change? I have read about people changing the book type of the dvd burner. Do I need to do that...and to what type...and how? Is there anything else i need to do? I am using Nero 6 burning software with the latest updates and with the dual layer dvd support.

Hi,

Though I've no experience with dual layer burning I'd imagine it would be a matter of ripping the original with DVD Decrypter and then burning the resulting VIDEO_TS folder with something like Nero 6 which has DL support.

Hopefully other members with hands on experience will pick up this thread.

I've successfully burned a copy of one of my commercial DVDS. I used DVD Decrypter to rip the files and write to an ISO file. Then I let Nero burn the ISO. I found that if I just loaded the VIDEO_TS folder into Nero, Nero would put another layer break in when it wasn't needed.
