Ok, what gives better more reliable playback on standalone players, DVD+R's or DVD-R's???? I've only ever used - and not even tried + so any1 had any experience with both formats could share their findings it would be much appreciated...
If one gives you any better playback than the other it's due to the player and not the media. Some players just don't like one or the other. In reality, 99.9% of newer players should play either one just fine. I personally stick to DVD-R because they cost less and work great on every standalone I've every tried them on. I have some +Rs, and haven't had any problems with them either.
hi, well I've done over 600 movies with -R's however recently some of them have froze periodically late in the movie on some stand alone players. To me this points to the stand alone rather then my method of backing up. I'm using a Pioneer A106D player which I've had trouble finding the firmware for so have used the one on pioneer's own site. I just thought maybe +R's would be more compatible with a wider range of stand alones?

Hey Nephilim, yeah was what I thought. I've always used Ritek grade A's. No idea what the fav media is at the moment but thats just what I've always used.
