Any creative uses for all those empty DVD spindles?

OK, this might seem like a silly post, but I've got quite a collection of empty DVD spindles in various sizes (capacities of 10, 25, 50, and 100) and I'm such a pack rat I'm loathe to throw them away ... I figure "maybe I'll figure out how to use them for something someday." Does anyone use theirs for anything or do you just throw them away (or recycle them -- hmmm, are they recyclable as regular plastics?)? The only use I've thought of so far is that I use one of my 25-capacity spindles as a "working spindle" where I transfer the new DVDs from those humongous 100-capacity spindles you get from newegg. That's not very creative, is it?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. :-)

You can get your media for less from new egg if you get the ones without spindles then use your left over spindles when they arrive.

You can save them for halloween. Duct tape one of them on your head and walk around saying "I'm spindle head, gimme some candy!"

You can also use them to check your gag reflex. Strictly for medical reasons of course.

I am running out of spindle DVD holders as I used them up as soon as I could get a hold of them !! Well, just use them to hold your CDs and DVDs . But you need to number them and a good Data base program to keep tracks of them. One such program is "CDWinder v1.9.1" at www.cdwinder.de .This baby is simple and searches so fast . I built up a collection of 600 CDs and DVDs and still growing ... Give me some more spindles !!

Zooco, I'm curious, don't the burned CDs and DVDs ever get damaged from the stacking (esp. in 50- or 100-capacity spindles)?

So far, everything is O.K. The oldest I had is about 2 years old . I have no idea about the long-term effect, say, 5 years from now ... In case of DVDs, I heard on some Forum that cheap ones deteriorate in less than 2 years and become unreadable. Onething for sure, I kept my spindles in a cool place (i.e. basement ).
